TOTAL BURSARY SOUTH AFRICA 2019

Total bursaries are awarded to students studying towards a formal qualification at either an FET college or a university.

We offer bursaries to x10 learners who require financial assistance for full time tuition at an FET college or a university in order for them to achieve a formal qualification e.g. a certificate, diploma or degree.

The aim of this bursary programme is to:


• Enhance youth development and employability
• Create a pool of talent to feed into the Young Talent Graduate programme

• Create a skills pool for scares and critical skills required by the company.

We offer graduate programme in the following fields:

• Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial and Civil)
• Internal Auditing
• Analytical Chemistry
• Marketing
• Environmental Protection
• Human Resources
• Logistics / Supply Chain Management
• Law and Governance
• Health and Safety

Candidate Requirements:
Who Is Eligible To Apply?

Priority consideration for bursaries is given to previously disadvantaged South Africa students who have successfully completed their Grade 12 with a university exemption.

Bursaries are also provided to students in their third year studies provided they have achieved an average of 65% or greater for years 1 and 2 and require funding to continue their studies.

To be eligible learners should not be receiving any financial assistance from another institution or company. Applicants should be between the ages of 18 and 23.

CLOVER BURSARIES R75 000

Clover are seeking out individuals who are dynamic, have leadership qualities and lead a balance lifestyle. If you are determined to succeed, have a great academic record and have completed your first year of study, this bursary may just be for you.

Bursaries will be awarded to those studying within one of the following fields:

Food Science
Logistics/ Supply Chain

The bursary programme covers R60 000 to R75 000 of tuition fees per annum until completion of studies, while students are responsible for covering the cost of their remaining expenses (including registration fees, classes, accommodation, travel and daily living expenses.)

FUNZA LUSHAKA BURSARY 2019

Funza Lushaka bursary for year 2019 is now open for application from students who want to acquire a teaching qualification in South Africa.

The main aim of Funza Lushaka bursary offered by the Department of Basic Education is to assist students from disadvantaged background who want to pursue a career in teaching. This also gives them an opportunity to contribute towards the upliftment of our society.

There three areas in which the Funza Lushaka bursary is awarded on yearly basis:

Foundation Phase Teaching
Intermediate and Senior Phase Teaching  - Mathematics/ Languages/ Technology/ Natural Science
FET Phase Teaching - majoring in any of the following 2 subjects: Accounting/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Technical Mathematics/ Agricultural Sciences/ Physical Sciences/ Life Sciences/ Technical Science/ Geography/ Languages/ Agricultural Technology/ Civil Technology/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications Technology/ Electrical Technology/ Mechanical Technology/ Engineering Graphics and Design

Funza Lushaka bursary covers the students cost toward the following expenses:

Tuition fees
Food and accommodation
Textbooks and study materials and
Living allowance for general living expenses

If you want to apply for this bursary you need to check if you do meet the following criteria:

You must be a South African
Be accepted in a tertiary institution that offers teaching as a qualification
You must be able to meet required performance capability
You must be prepared to teach at a school appointed by the Provincial Education Department
Have love to work with learners from all walks of life
Must not have any charges of misconduct or dismissed from work


Funza Lushaka Bursary applicants enrolling for the PGCE

You will have to have finished a qualification that allows you to enrol into PGCE
For PGCE Foundation Phase Teaching – must have majored in an African Language and Psychology
For PGCE Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase, Further Education and Training Teaching – must have majored in chosen area of specialisation from the B. degree
Have a minimum of 2 selected priority subjects at 2nd year of study
Have enough subjects in the selected priority subjects to qualify to teach at school

Certified copy of your latest Matric results, if currently in Matric
Certified copy of your Matric certificate if already complete
Academic transcript, if currently at university
Proof of acceptance at the university

DE BEERS BURSARY

The De Beers bursary will be awarded to students studying/ intending on studying within one of the following fields:

Chemical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Mining Engineering
Metallurgy Engineering
Mine Survey
Geology (specialising in Geotechnical Engineering/ Rock Engineering)

The full cost bursary will cover the following expenses: tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation, meals, a laptop allowance and a student allowance.
National diploma students will also receive practical training each year, and University students will be able to take part in vacation work.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted and required to attend two interviews before the bursary is awarded. Should you not receive any feedback by 30 November 2018 at the latest, please regard your application as unsuccessful.


Who Can Apply?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

South African citizen
Reside in areas surrounding the mine operation
Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
Studying or intend on studying towards a full-time undergraduate qualification, within one of the aforementioned fields of study
Studying or have been accepted to study at a recognised University or University of Technology in South Africa
Must have achieved a minimum academic result of 60% for English and 70% for Higher Grade Mathematics and Science
Proven financial need
